Patients undergoing revision arthroplasty have consistently been reported to be at higher risk of infection in comparison to primary arthroplasty, with infection rates of 7.9% – 33% reported, irrespective of whether a one or two-stage approach is used. In addition, bone loss becomes an increasing problem with every revision.
CERAMENT can help you in the management of hip and knee revisions because it remodels into host bone within 6-12 months, offering stability and fixation for the new implant, and improved bone stock should another revision be required.
